After the initial excitement about the prospect of an amazing race Jen decided this was the lamest thing ever...but she'd go along and try to be excited for my benefit...she never got into it but it was an adventure...
800 people running around the city for the day. I didnt realize how Sydney centric it would be, without Jen I wouldve been dead-in-the-water. We used some of her contacts to map out which of the 14 check points we'd hit (only had to do 10 as we were in the social category).
We head thru moore park field trying to beat this other team that was creeping on us..they went around...and we head thru only to find it was fenced it, so we started the day climbing a medal fence...
We get to the first checkpoint not knowing what to expect - there were people skate boarding down this big hill...Jen "what the heck..this is like adventure shit tracy what am I doing here" we both sat on the board and laughed our way to the bottom (with the city in the skyline...)
Proceed to walk to Redfern oval, coffee and banana bread in hand..all while the other races were running and die-hard serious. ok some of the people were retarded, Ill give Jen that much. We did a cross word puzzle - once again very sydney centric. We ended up teamming up with a group that needed an answer we had and vise versa...
next, hopped a bus at central to the city, taste test in Wynard park, found fitness first, and the oldest building in Syndey for a stop. Onto the ferry over to Rose Bay for a little kayak action, beautiful out.
Hopped another bus into the cross pick up the last 2 cans of food (baby food and coconut milk - which I found to be completely funny just weird canned food for charity) and dropped them into the van to complete another point.
Art Museum in the domain - got a little backwards and some girls decided not to help out...Jen caught on they were lieing...biatches. Got some much needed help from a worker, ran to the priceline to developed a team photo, ran to the bus to end it just on time!!
The last 2 things were karaoke and close out - we grabbed beer, food and bailed.
Back at the car we found out we were broke into during the coarse of the 5 hour day. I put my camel back (hydration pack) in the car as it was leaking and they stole it :( Jen lost her wallet and blackberry - we were feeling very violated..crappy why to end the day!
My plate - 3 layers...just like home guys...eyes always bigger than my tummy...every year it is a beat to see if I actual eat what I serve...
