Hartleys Crocodile Farm

Visited a croc farm - very hot afternoon mixed with an 15 minute down pour.

First stop Koalas - who live a good life...sleeping 23 hours a day - high on life or rather Eucalyptus leaves. On a side note a local told me that this aboriginal word means "no water" as they get the majority of their fluid from the leaves.

Got to pet a baby croc - very fun. Emily was a bit freaked out as she is scared of snakes, or scaly things, but she did it! We watched a snake show, went on a boat ride, walked around and watched a Croc show.

OHHH and this spider below was in the cage that goes into the Bird sanctuary - like just living there, I got verrry close to this thing, saw it and panicked!

Outside the core area there were walk ways with several enclosed areas where all these croc were chilling, and lots of them just had there mouths open. I of course has to throw some sticks to get them to move. Nothing. After we came upon on the one that was huge with green moss on it like it hasnt moved for years...these are FAKE! we got a bit irritated at this showing - poor form Hartley's! There was a aussie maintenance type boy which I asked about this new found phoney set up...he says "yeah mate these are fake, we found the batteries is those ones"...SEEE we knew it. Well a little while later - they moved...we got a good laugh out of it and I am sure the aussie boy had a laugh too.

Look Jackie they had a Orange Beak in Australia :) I miss good ole days; getting chased into your apartment by ducks before we headed to the local T town rodeo!
